London, 6 November 2012: Global Marine Systems Ltd has been named in The Sunday Times Top Track 250, a ranking of Britain's leading mid-market private companies with the biggest sales. Top Track 250 is compiled by Fast Track and published in The Sunday Times prior to formal presentations at a national awards dinner each October.

Newly appointed Chairman of Global Marine, Gabriel Ruhan collected the award on behalf of the company and commented, "Global Marine is proud to be recognized again this year as one of the UK's top-performing private companies. It is a credit to the passion of our team that we have continued our success in the global marketplace for subsea cable installation, maintenance and engineering services".

Gabriel Ruhan replaced Andy Ruhan as Chairman of Global Marine Systems, Ltd. Andy Ruhan departs Global Marine following 9 successful years on the Board.

Gabriel Ruhan first joined Global Marine Systems in 2004 after having spent three years in a highly successful consolidation of the US-based IT hosting and outsourcing business, NaviSite, and was responsible for managing Global Marine's continued success in telecommunications network installation and maintenance, as well the firm's diversification into subsea projects in the offshore energy and oil & gas industries. Ruhan remains in his role as director of Bridgehouse Capital as well as in other Global Marine joint ventures.

Joining Gabriel Ruhan on the board as a Non-Executive Director is Phil Metcalf. Metcalf has held a number of senior positions including Senior Vice President and Officer of Nasdaq listed Global Crossing, CEO of Loucetios, IPSA, and New Cogen, Chairman of RGM Biofuels, and several other key management roles. Metcalf is a former director of engineering consultancy Stone & Webster, now part of Shaw Group. In his role with Global Crossing Metcalf was CEO of Global Marine Systems and was responsible for the company's successful restructuring prior to the purchase by Bridgehouse Capital in 2004.

"I am confident that our newly strengthened Board will help to continue the success and recognition that Global Marine has demonstrated in achieving the Fast Track 250 award," stated Ian Douglas, CEO of Global Marine. "Both Gabe and Phil have made vast contributions to Global Marine Systems in the past, and we look forward to benefitting from their knowledge of the company well into the future."
