Global Marine offers a depth of experience in its shore-end and landfall services, underpinned by exceptional on-site management. Our track record demonstrates our success in running shallow water installation projects for clients in industries including oil & gas and telecommunications.
We can deliver bespoke cable recovery, route clearance (RC) and pre-lay grapnel runs (PLGR) in both shallow and deep water. In terms of shore-end services we offer both direct and pre-laid solutions.
Shallow water is determined as a water level below 13 metres and where a barge is required opposed to a main lay cable ship. The distance of shallow water from the shore varies from location to location but on occasions can exceed 25 kilometres from the landing point.
Services are carried out with specialist shallow-draft vessels, together with specialist equipment to land and bury the cable. Global Marine has experience in converting barges to ensure the right solution is available for the job.
All shallow water cable installations require support of professional dive services. All our diving activities – wherever they take place in the world - are carried out under UK HSE commercial diving regulations, as a minimum.
