Project Engineer

Key Deliverables:

  • Be a key part of the Project Engineering Team, providing safe, efficient and innovative engineering solutions to support the entire Global Marine Business
  • Support the Bids & Sales Team by providing efficient and cost effective technical solutions for bids.
  • Support the Project Delivery Team in the execution of our projects and undertake specific tasks when required.
  • Participate in Project Engineering meetings with internal stakeholders and/or clients
  • Work with other internal stakeholders to engineer solutions that are fit for purpose, cost effective, and are provided in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that engineering solutions are safe and environmentally friendly.
  • Ensure that all work is completed in accordance with the company RQHSE Policies.
  • Have the ability to set and work to agreed budgets and timescales.
  • Devise and prepare methodologies/procedures for installation projects.
  • Co-ordinate production of storyboards and method statements, including delivery of CAD and 3D output.
  • Prepare SOW for subcontractors’ services, and conduct evaluation of received proposals from sub-contractors.
  • Oversee the mobilisation of modular equipment onto vessels as required and based on project requirements, liaising with other departments to achieve a common goal.
  • Carry out basic hand calculations and produce design reports/technical notes.
  • Support the Project Engineering Department in the delivery of new vessels and /or equipment for future use, including ship upgrades, conversions or new buildings.
  • To carry out any additional tasks, as required by the company (within your knowledge / capability)
  • To work on site, in the UK and abroad, as required by the company


  • Engineering Degree
  • Knowledge/Experience in Oil & Gas Projects - offshore/subsea design practices
  • Knowledge/ Experience in Offshore Windfarm Experience
  • A good understanding of Quality, Health and Safety Requirements
  • Understanding of rigging/lifting operations
  • Experience in Grillage and Seafastening design on Ships
  • Well versed in standard offshore Rules & Regulations and dealing with Class Approvals
  • Experience in International project work
  • Ability to use AutoCAD or SolidWorks

Advantageous Abilities/Certification:

  • Cable Lay/Umbilical Lay/Subsea Construction
  • Telecoms Cable installation and maintenance experience
  • An understanding of Offshore operational standards (i.e. IMCA or similar)
  • Offshore Survival
  • Offshore Medical
  • Associated with a Professional Institution and ideally IEng or CEng
